HeartMind

HeartMind is a quartet that plays avant-garde more-or-less “ambient” imrovised music. Posted here are more than seven hours of music which I hope you enjoy.

These pieces are entirely improvised. There’s no score or even advance planning. We sit down and we play. That’s it. I find the result meditative and dreamlike to listen to. This music is not so much about notes and rhythms as it is about timbre, space, mood, and texture. Let it wash over you and take you on a journey.

Jordan Saucier: Vocalizations, Korg MS2000 synthesizer, Taishōgoto, TC Helicon VoiceLive Touch effects unit.
John Schwenk: Haken Continuum Fingerboard, electric piano (many sounds), iPad with Spacecraft app, ass’t. small percussion, recorder, harmonica, hand pan, DeepMind synthesizer, gong, slide whistle. Recording, mixing, & mastering.

Kozfest 2025

I forgot to unpause my recorder until half way through our set. Argh! Thus, I have only 3 mixed pieces. Others will be presented as video only using the sound from the video cameras. The last piece is by Jordan and Glenden who make up their own duo – called “meanspirit.”
